Is Buying A Home Cheaper Than Renting In Arizona?

Survey Says: Yes! According to Trulia, in 100 of the nations largest metro areas, buying a home is currently about 38% cheaper than renting. When we look closer at the average for the Phoenix area it is about 33% cheaper to buy vs. rent and about 42% for the Tucson area. Trulia does take into account a steady, but moderate appreciation of ownership as well as the tax deductions available for homeowners.

Everyone has a unique situation and it would be unwise to tell every person that they will save money by buying a home instead of renting. However, there is a potential for those who can stay put for a few years to save and possibly even make some money.
